Zeynep Toraman is a composer and scholar from Istanbul, Turkey, living and working in Berlin, Germany. Her practice-based research explores the ways in which texts (in the broadest sense of this word) can interact with one another within the larger framework of musical compositions, by way of thinking of her own library as an archive, and enfolding autobiography, poetry, fiction and history within her works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Past and recent collaborators include Contrechamps, Ensemble Proton, ELISION Ensemble, Ensemble Linea, Quatuor Diotima, Distractfold Ensemble, Noam Bierstone, and the Wet Ink Ensemble. Her music has been performed at festivals such as Darmstadt Ferienkurse (Darmstadt, Germany), Summer Academy Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart, Germany), IRCAM ManiFeste (Paris, France) and Wet Ink Large Ensemble Readings (New York, NY). Her research has been supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zeynep taught at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University of University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and she completed her PhD in Music Composition at Harvard University in 2023, where she studied with Chaya Czernowin, Hans Tutschku and John Hamilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon har sl\u00e4ppt musik p\u00e5 S\u00f8vn Records, Riforma och MIC Lithuania, medverkat i residens p\u00e5 bland annat EMS Stockholm, Topia Festival och GMEA Albi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elif G\u00fclin So\u011fuksu is an electroacoustic composer, sound artist, performer, and researcher born in Istanbul and currently based in Berlin. She holds her bachelor\u2019s degree in composition and audio technology at Istanbul Bilgi University Music (TR) and recently obtained her master\u2019s degree at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague (NL). Elif draws inspiration from the fugitive behavior and cross-modality of imagination in sound; her compositional practice grounds on catching the sounds of the mind. She researches essentially on the human voice as a potent in the formation of mentally produced sounds through the polyphony of theoretical and practical frameworks. Her electroacoustic pieces and live performances bridge algorithmic approaches, including voice-driven live electronics and creative coding, digital processing, acousmatic music, and spatial sound. She traces the peripheries of sensorial and perceptual currencies of voice, auditory hallucinations, and the tactile nature of sound. She has recently released her debut EP on S\u00f8vn Records in July 2024 and released other music on Riforma, and MIC Lithuania labels. She works as a sound designer for multidisciplinary projects and as a sound engineer and technician for live concerts.\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b During the pandemic, she co-founded the international all womxn collective It\u2019s Us: Ophelia. They created their debut project; a digital theater experience; So, Count Mine and premiered in December 2020. Her recent and upcoming residencies include *Topia Festival (DE), Kintai.Kitaip (LT), Sound Topographies GMEA Albi (FR), Elektronmusikstudion EMS Stockholm (SE), among others. Genom egna instrument och tekniker l\u00e5ter han mikrobiella processer, kemiska reaktioner och organiska material bli drivkrafter i sina ljudverk. Adomas Palekas (Vilnius\/Den Haag) \u2013 sound and bio artist, engineer working at the intersection of the non-human and art. His research focus is on Circuits of Extended Phenotype \u2013 sound devices that invite biotic and abiotic worlds to enact upon the music making process. With self-derived instruments and interfaces, Adomas explores processes beyond our sonic perception: microbial metabolism, (in)organic bodies or chemical reactions, which become the primary compositional forces in his emergent sound works. His approach combines design of musical instruments, microbial research, attention to site and non-human ear, field recordings, sonification, electroacoustic composition and other mediums. Adomas\u2019s works and collaborations have been presented in various spaces across Lithuania, Italy, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, UK, Czechia as well as international festivals such as \u201cArs Electronica\u201d, \u201c\u016aM\u0116D\u0116\u201c, \u201cREWIRE 2023\u201c, \u201cGaudeamus\u201c, Venice Architecture Biennial.
